I
think most people
can remember an interest in horses as a small child. Horses are a wonderful
place to focus energy and attention rather than on the many distractions we have in
the world today.
Horses have been "a quiet place where time stands still". As I began
riding, I found that horseback riding on other people's horses did not allow me
the riding time I desired. Over a decade ago, I was fortunate enough to
purchase my first horse, Lady, a thoroughbred mare. Lady provided me
firsthand with insight of the enjoyment in the horse world.

For me, horses are a quiet way to relax with excitement that is pure enjoyment.
There is nothing more calming and exciting, than a collected canter through a green
pasture or training a horse to consistently and willingly to
perform a new task. To me, riding a horse should be about being empowered
with knowledge.
It is about being able to do things that you might have once considered out of
reach or ability. It's not a hobby. It is a sport.

My horse achievements
include over 10 years of riding experience, shows, as well as certification by the
American Riding Instructor Association (ARIA) which is meant for the serious,
above-average instructor who teaches safely and in a professional, competent
manner, with high standards of honesty and integrity.
I enjoy teaching
riding lessons, (not only because it involves horses), but because it has
everything to do with overcoming your fears, setting and accomplishing goals,
consistency, accountability, responsibility, patience, persistence until success is achieved, and not
settling for anything less. Horses are just plain hard work. Equally as important, is understanding the
horse psychology to allow the horse to communicate with you and that you
understand what he is indicating to you.
I am pleased to be
able to share my riding knowledge with others who want to enjoy the basics of
horsemanship and riding on weekends.
